Your questions answered

Can you fit a stairlift on any staircase?

The Thyssenkrupp Flow X has a monorail design which combined with a carriage that can go around tight bends and a programmable seat which adjusts position when travelling to optimise available space produces a stairlift solution suited to the most challenging requirements.

We installed a Thyssenkrupp Flow X on a curved staircase where the customer had been told by two leading national stairlift suppliers they could not supply a product to do what was wanted.

The Flow X will quite simply fit onto staircases where other leading brands won’t.

We can provide expert friendly advice over the phone and do offer a free home assessment with no obligation to proceed where we can discuss a stairlift solution that best suits your needs.

Are you the cheapest?

We have been told by our customers who have compared prices that we are lower but we don’t make that promise because we may make a design recommendation that produces a better stairlift for our customers which our competitors might not do.

We aim to provide the best value for our customers with reliable stairlift products that best suits their needs in terms of design and comfort.

We also provide warranty cover where our customers can be confident that they can contact us at any time for support or advice 24/7.

We include free removal and aim to make the best ‘buy-back’ offer with every Flow X and Homeglide Extra stairlift we supply.

Am I entitled to VAT Exemption?

If you have a long-term medical condition which creates a risk of falling you can complete a self-exemption statement which we include in our quotations and VAT will not be charged.

We offer free removal and buy-back to our customers however we are frequently asked to remove stairlifts supplied by other suppliers. This service is chargeable, but we have been advised by HMRC that VAT exemption applies if VAT was not charged when installed.

Is a stairlift right for me?

Living independently in your own home often requires adaptations over time to minimise the risk of falling.

A good quality stairlift, designed to suit the needs of the user, can have life changing effects that flow from a healthier and happier quality of independent living.

The staircase potentially has the greatest risk of harm and living with anxiety about the risk of fall can in itself have harmful effects.

Fitting a stairlift removes the risk of fall and any connected anxiety, not just for the user but also for concerned family and friends.

We are frequently told by our customers that they wish they had fitted a stairlift ‘years ago’.

Is a stairlift easy to use?

The controls on our stairlifts are extremely easy to use and we always take our time with handover to ensure that users are happy operating the controls.

Remote controls are supplied so that assistance can be provided if needed.

We are also very happy to talk to our customers over the phone and visit if further guidance is needed.

Can the seat and controls be adapted to suit my needs?

Our Thyssenkrupp stairlifts have seating options and adjustments that make them suitable for a wide range of users including children.

Optional armrests can be fitted that fully open to support side-transfer from wheelchair and hoist.

We can also supply a safety harness instead of seatbelt if required.

Are you Covid 19-safe?

We are finding that customers prefer that we do not wear face masks now, but we will do if you prefer. We always ask as part of our health and safety control measures.

We will maintain social distancing,  confining our activities to the staircase and we will wear gloves.

How much do stairlifts cost?

New curved stairlifts can be supplied from £4,695 (VAT exempt) with bespoke stairlift rails manufactured to best suit your staircase.

We supply new straight stairlifts from £1,995 (VAT exempt). Subject to availability, we can provide a reconditioned, pre-owned, straight stairlift for as little as £1,495 (VAT exempt).

Our pre-owned and new quotations include free removal and our ‘best price’ buy-back offer.

Running costs are very low and charging the onboard 12v batteries costs under £10 a year.

Our after-warranty service and callout cover starts at £150 a year ensuring peace of mind with a prompt call-out response and access to replacement parts expertly installed. We recommend changing the two 12v onboard batteries every 2-3 years, which we will supply at a discounted price if we are already there servicing your stairlift.

Where an application will be made for a council mobility grant (eligibility criteria applies) we can supply a quotation that is best suited to your needs to support your application.

What support services and warranty do you offer?

Our new and approved, pre-owned Thyssenkrupp stairlifts come with a comprehensive 2-year parts and labour warranty.

We can also offer extended warranties as an optional extra for up to 5 years.

Where our warranty cover has expired (or for new customers with existing Thyssenkrupp stairlifts that have no warranty cover), we offer an annual Thyssenkrupp stairlift safety and service inspection from just £150.

When our warranty cover nears the expiry date we can offer an annual safety and service inspection and a technical callout service (fault diagnosis is included, the labour and replacement parts are excluded) from £250 a year.

Do you remove stairlifts?

We remove Thyssenkrupp stairlifts free of charge with a buy-back offer for approved stairlifts. We include free removal and offer best value buy-back offer with all our stairlift quotations.

We will remove any other brand of stairlift for just £250.
